Facebook
Insteo Display has the most integration with Facebook that is currently available on Digital Signage. We offer several ways you can show Facebook on your screen - Facebook Posts, Facebook Posts with Photos, and Facebook Photo Albums.
- Facebook Posts
This App pulls the 5 most recent "official" posts. If your post has a single photo attached, it will show that photo as well. This will not show other people who post on your wall, only your official posts.
- Facebook Posts with Photos
This App shows the 5 most recent official posts with photos. It won't show text only posts, so if you rarely post pictures this may end up going back pretty far into your past history.
Once you have integrated Insteo Display with your business, there are a few things to keep in mind in order to keep your content new and fresh.
- Post Regularly
The great thing about Insteo Display is that it helps you to keep on-track with your Social Media updates. Your followers want to hear about happenings at your business – and so does your on-location audience! Posting photos along with your statuses makes your Facebook page – and your Digital Signage - more intriguing and interesting.
- Keep Your Content Current
Insteo pulls the most recent (5) official posts that have photos, so if there are posts showing on your screen that are outdated or no longer valid, just post additional statuses to "clear" the old content. Once again, this will not only keep your on-location screens current, it will keep your Facebook audience up-to-date as well! Deleting Old Posts Isn't a Good Idea: Insteo Display caches content, so if you delete an old post, it will still show up on screen. The best solution is to post regularly to keep your Facebook wall and your digital sign always up to date.
Queuing vs. Streaming for Twitter, Texting, etc.

Our Twitter Apps offers a great way for audiences to interact with your screen or to add content to keep your screen active and interesting! There are two choices for how to show Twitter and other content depending on how active your account and keywords are.
- Streaming Twitter
This option is great for VERY active Twitter accounts or keywords that receive more than 500 Tweets a day. Live-Streaming Twitter can also be used during busy events when audiences will want to see their Tweet appear on the screen instantaneously. However, this option is less ideal for slower accounts or keywords. It only updates when a tweet comes through the system, and will sit waiting for new tweets until a new one comes. On slower accounts or keywords, this may be less interesting to your audience.
- Queued Twitter
This choice is best for Twitter accounts that receive less than 500 tweets per day. Your screen will show the most recent 5-20 tweets and will continue to cycle through them until additional tweets are added to the queue. This App keeps the screen active and engaging, but new Tweets will not be displayed on the screen until it had gone through those in the queue. For example, if there are 12 tweets in the queue, and it displays each one for 10 seconds, it will be two minutes before it loads and shows anything new. That's why this option isn't best for active twitter, since the queue causes a delay from the time someone tweets until it shows on screen.
Mix and Match:
Insteo Display users often mix and match the types of content, and mix and match the options of Streaming or Queuing, sometimes showing both types in different areas of the screen. For example in the top section, you could show Queuing "Previous Tweets" and in the bottom section you could show Live "Streaming Tweets" - it's up to you!
Insteo generally chooses Queuing as it keeps the screen looking active.
